Plot: You're someone who hates happy endings but end up getting one of your own.

(Y/N)'s POV

And they all lived happily ever after. These were the lies we were told when we were kids. My childhood friend and I would constantly debate about endings, he believed in those corny happy endings, he was never a realist, I on the other hand believed more in the power of sad endings.

"Who are you going with to the dance?" Robbie, my childhood friend, asked.

"No one. I don't need a date."

"You're a hardcore loner." He sighed.

"Well who else am I going to go with? You?" I saw a bit of hurt in his eyes. DId I go too far? But he already had a date, Allison Greg to be exact. I don't know why, but I really disliked that girl. She was nice, smart, cute. But I dislike her. No explainations needed. Maybe it's because she's somehow better than me?

Tonight was the night of the homecoming dance. I sat by the bleachers, book in hand, ignoring everyone. It was sad, I admit. I was all alone while everyone else danced the night away. Even the teachers did. I was the lonely fangirl.

But as if on cue, Robbie arrived. "Hey, wanna dance?" He asked.

"I have nothing else to do so why not?" I got up and he lead me to the dance floor.

"Where's Allison?" I asked.

"She isn't here." He said.

"She bailed on you?" I said, a small bit of anger was in my voice. The nerve of that girl. Robbie deserves better and I know it.

"Not exactly." He said.

"Then what?"

"Yesterday, after what you said, I realized something," He let out a sigh, "You were right, I couldn't see you dancing with anyone, specially with Allison as my date. But that's not what I realized, I realized that I wanted to be that lucky fellow who'd be dancing with you." As the slow song started, it just made the situation even more awkward. He was my childhood friend and as of now, closest friend.

"Well, it's just a dance." I said.

"And we're...?"

"Just friends." I said. He slowly moved away until his eyes lit up signalling that he had an idea. Things happened all too quickly. His lips were on mine.

(A/N sorry it was ended with a cliff-hanger, you think of the rest :) I'm not really good with imagines so I hope you liked it.)
